 Through the tragedy of losing my wife, Florinda, this past year and the kindness of many dear friends in baseball, I came to realize just how many of us have had this horrible disease touch our lives.Florinda’s fight has prompted me to stand up and fight myself! The establishment of this foundation can bring us together for a very special day of golf and fellowship while raising money for a very noble cause. Proceeds will fund the American Cancer Society’s research programs as well as support the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge of Philadelphia which provides no-cost housing for cancer patients and their families. As we begin this annual event, it is with great anticipation that it will grow and prosper as a legacy to all our loved ones.
